Speak Up 2007 – A Big Success!

Thank you for all of your support and participation! Speak Up 2007 was the best ever with over 367,000 K-12 students, teachers, parents and school leaders representing all 50 states and DC. This represents an overall growth in participation of 37%! Top 10 participating states (# of surveys submitted) in 2007: TX, CA, AZ, IL, AL, MD, NC, PA, FL and MI. We even had schools from Canada, Mexico and Australia.

We also achieved another significant milestone – the 1 millionth student submitted their survey on December 10th. Julie Evans will announce that student’s school on Friday, Jan 29th at FETC in Orlando, FL. Stay tuned for more details. As a special recognition, that student’s school will receive a SMARTboard and stand from SMART Technologies; additionally, the school and district staff will be invited to participate with us at our annual Speak Up Congressional Briefing in Washington DC this spring.

The success of Speak Up 2007 would not be possible without our fabulous sponsors: CDW-G, SMART Technologies, PASCO scientific, Futurekids, Discovery Educators Network, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and KI Education. Special thanks also to our National Outreach Partners – SETDA, CoSN and NSBA for their wonderful support and to all of the almost 100 nonprofit organizations and associations that help us spread the word about Speak Up. Thanks for the support!
