Speak Up 2007 Teacher, Parent, School Leader results are in!

We’re happy to announced that the Speak Up 2007 Teacher, Parent, and School leader data is available online to schools and districts that participated in Speak Up last Fall. The data can be easily accessed on our password-protected website. There is a wealth of information available in the reports and we encourage you to use the findings to help inform your planning and budgeting decisions.

Here are just a few of the interesting facts we have learned:

  • 91% of school leaders report that the effective implementation of educational technology is important to their school’s (or district’s) core mission. And, 86% report that technology enhances student achievement.
  • Teachers are using technology for homework and practice, to set student objectives, to provide feedback, create models or pictures to present knowledge, and create graphic organizers for comparing, classifying, creating metaphors and analogies.
  • Parents top technology recommendations for improving student achievement: online access to classroom materials and lectures, school portal and online tools to streamline communications between parents, students and teachers.

Stay tuned for the pre-release of the student results to participating schools/districts. The national findings will be released during a Congressional Briefing in Washington DC on April 8th, 2008.
